Have you ever handed something off—and ended up finishing it yourself?
Maybe you’re reminding people about deadlines, checking whether things got done, or answering questions you thought they could handle.
Then you look at your own work. Still waiting.
You want your team to be accountable. You want to support them, too. But you’re getting worn out being the person who makes sure everything happens.
And sometimes, you hear yourself saying, “It’s just faster if I do it.”
Let’s work on that.
In this four-week workshop, we’ll work on the everyday moments that make accountability easier—or harder.
What happens when expectations aren’t clear? When someone misses a commitment? When you’re under pressure and jump in before they’ve had a chance to figure it out?
We’ll use practical leadership tools, brain science, and situations from your work to help you respond differently.
You’ll leave with a clearer way to:
Set expectations so people understand what they own, what success looks like, and when it’s due.
Follow up without constantly chasing or taking the work back.
Address missed commitments with a direct, useful conversation.
Recognize when pressure is pushing you into fixing everything yourself.
Build consistent habits that support accountability and protect your time and energy.
How Will This Work?
You’ll choose an accountability challenge from your own team and use it throughout the workshop. Each session includes a practical tool, time to apply it, and one action to try before we meet again.
Notice the habits and assumptions that keep pulling you back into everyone else’s work. Explore how pressure affects your thinking and practice a simple reset before you respond.
Get specific about expectations, ownership, and follow-up. Learn to recognize whether someone needs clarity, skills, resources, or a conversation about their commitment.
Prepare for the conversation you’ve been putting off. Practice addressing a missed commitment while keeping responsibility with the person who owns the work.
Build a realistic 30-day plan. Choose a few leadership habits you can repeat, and identify what you’ll look for to see whether things are changing.
You’ll also have access to our private online community through December 18.
This is a place to ask a question, share what happened when you tried a tool, and learn from other leaders working through similar situations.
I’ll check in twice a week to answer questions and support your progress. You can participate in short visits that fit your schedule.
You lead people and feel like too much depends on you.
You’ve delegated work but keep taking it back.
You want to address accountability without micromanaging.
You’re putting off a conversation because you’re unsure how to approach it.
You want practical help you can use with your team right away.

I’m Jill Windelspecht, founder of The Leaders’ Coach.
Before starting my business, I spent more than 20 years in corporate HR, talent development, and organization effectiveness, including leadership roles with Eaton and Honeywell.
Today, I help leaders understand what gets in their way—and practice more effective ways to lead. My approach brings together executive coaching, neuroscience, mental fitness, and the realities of working with people.
We’ll connect the science to what you can actually say and do when you’re back at work.
You've got questions. We've got answers.
