Steven Covey has written, “All things are created twice.” First, there is the mental creation and, second, the physical creation. Vision pertains to this first creation. Your people have to see it before they can be it. This is why for leaders, the ability to cast a compelling vision is a must if you are going to take your company, not-for-profit or team into the land of “what could be.”
Chances are you’ve heard of vision boards - but maybe you haven’t bought into the idea that they genuinely bring about change. If this is the case, you’re probably missing some information about how vision boards work!
Creating a vision board is more than just putting words or pictures on paper, it’s a tool that can be used to visualize your goals for yourself, your team or your organization, and physically lay them out in front of you.
In order for a vision board to work, you need to channel in on three things: choice, power, and consistency.
