Exercise Your Mind Today For Better Results Tomorrow

What if you knew that you could reduce your anxiety and stress levels, improve your work-related decisions and performance, strengthen your work (and personal) relationships, and experience greater peace of mind and happiness in your life with a 2-minute practice, 3 times a day: would you want to try it?

I am currently getting certified as a Positive Intelligence (PQ) Coach – applying and learning these mental fitness strategies for myself and my clients. Those of you who know me know that I love using science based strategies for growth and development and that understanding how to master your mindset is a game-changer.

Mental Fitness Definition: Your capacity to respond to life’s challenges with positive rather than negative mindset.

Think of your brain/mind as a muscle. Because of neuroplasticity the brain is never done forming and reforming and you can exercise parts of the brain to build up pathways that allow you to empathize, create, innovate and make better decisions.

The important thing to know is that if you don’t actively focus on exercising it, your brain runs on old tape and beliefs that can get in your way and stop you from getting what you really want. The program that I am leveraging helps you boost 3 core mental fitness muscles.

Saboteurs Interceptor Muscle: Your Saboteurs generate all your negative emotions, including stress, anxiety, self-doubt, anger, avoidance, procrastination, insensitivity or discontent. Mental fitness requires the ability to intercept and discredit the Saboteurs.

Sage Muscle: Your Sage is the one in you that handles challenges with a clear and calm mind, and positive emotions. It also has access to your 5 primary powers. Empathize, Explore, Innovate, Navigate, and Activate. For peak performance, you learn to boost all 5 powers and know when to use which power.     

Self-Command Muscle: You’re not in full command of your mind. If you were, you would choose to entirely silence the Saboteurs in your head. You would choose to not stress out over what you can’t control, push away self-doubts, recover from disappointments immediately, and spend little time in anger, regret, or blame.   

I know as leaders that there is always so much distracting you – internally and externally - and when you don’t prioritize your own mental fitness it impacts you, your team and your organization. Your team needs you to be at peak performance and you deserve it.  

You start by finding out which saboteurs are getting your way the most. I am going to be sharing more details about each of the 10 saboteurs over the next few months, the damage they cause and strategies to overcome.
